Placing Blame
This body of work is based on the biblical story of "The Fall of Man" as retold in a Modern context. It is very important to understand that these works are not meant to discredit the events put forth by the Catholic Church, but rather to re-open a dialogue. In presenting these alternative aspects of the Garden of Eden or of the interaction between Adam and Eve, the dogma of Original Sin is brought into question. It is irrelevant whether these questions lead to the same conclusions that have existed for centuries or introduce new ones. However it is important that in considering these alternatives, the audience is forced to question within themselves what they truly believe rather than complacently accept what they are told without knowing why.
Although the story itself is Christian, and more specifically the idea of Original Sin is Catholic, this work does not exclude a Non-Christian audience. Because the work is in the context of the everyday, it opens the dialogue up to all who experience the work and brings forth ideas beyond Christianity itself.
